I can?t stand either team. Indiana basketball fans tend to be Notre Dame Football fans, aka reversible jacket fans. This isn?t necessarily the same in reverse. In addition, both schools aren?t really fans of their school. They are an Indiana Basketball fan or a Notre Dame Football fan, not a fan of the athletic program. They couldn?t care less how the other sports perform. We measured relationship discrimination using 6 questions adapted from Pettigrew and Meertens (1995) that included: “I would be less likely to marry a [rival] fan than a typical fan.” and “As a boss, I would be less likely to hire a [rival] fan than a typical fan.”
